ROI requires more than a keynote

Change requires more than an inspirational keynote, change requires tools and a “can do” mind set. Every successful culture change we have been involved in is the result of EVERYONE (employees and executives) being “all in.”

There is NO such thing as a “silver bullet” keynote. Ongoing success means we have to equip ALL people with the tools and strategies they need to “Be the change they want to create in their organizations.” Change is as much the will of the people as it is the will of the CEO and Ex team. A keynote is simply the tipping point, the start of transformation and change.

Our partners and friends at Big Speak share some valuable insights on the value of a keynote and more.

If you’d like us to design a keynote with ROI to kick start a change or transformation in your company, contact Sonia at 619-624-9691 to check our calendars for availability.

Cheers,

It’s not a solution if it’s not affordable

In our travels to and from India while writing NANOVATION we learned about one of the most innovative and renowned cardiac surgeons in the world, Dr. Devi Shetty.

Dr. Shetty is democratizing cardiac surgery, making it affordable to those who need it. We’ve been, not only taken by his story, but diligent about sharing it with clients interested in learning more about how limitations do NOT have to be limiting. Dr. Shetty shares many empowering perspectives on how to innovate the best healthcare solutions despite limitations.

Here are a few of the highlights:

Getting admitted to a U.S. hospital (which are among the safest hospitals in the world) is 10 times riskier than sky diving. IT will be the next big thing in making hospitals safer.

Employing women (at equal pay), empowers children and will empower an entire nation.

Limitations do not have to be limiting! Limitations will empower us to innovate affordable solutions.

What limitations are holding you back? How can you borrow from Dr. Shetty’s journey, rethink your limitations, strive for affordable solutions and empower innovation?

Cheers,
Kevin & Jackie

Good Jobs vs Great Jobs

Jim Clifton,Gallup Chairman and CEO, was recently interviewed on the global need for “good jobs” by South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo newspaper. Here are a couple takeaways from the interview.

One of Gallup’s biggest discoveries ever is, everyone in the world wants a good job. Of the 7 billion people in the world, there are 5 billion adults aged 15 and older. Of these 5 billion, 3 billion tell Gallup they desire a full-time job. Only 1.3 billion actually have a good job, which means that the real unemployment rate in the world is over 50%.

What is the definition of a good job? Gallup defines a good job as one with 30+ hours of work a week with a consistent paycheck from an employer.

What is the definition of a great job? great job is a job in which you believe your boss cares about your development, you can use your strengths everyday at work (employees who use their strengths every day are six times more likely to be engaged than those who do not) and you believe your work makes a contribution to something. So your job matters and, subsequently, your life matters.

Your turn… Do you have a good job or a great job?

Are you a good company or a great company?

Cheers,

Take a Stand or Let it Go?

Whether it’s gender, religion, a difference of opinion, or any other highly emotional issue we deal with in life and at work, Ash Beckham offers some valuable insights and takeaways by sharing a very funny but deeply emotional story.

This TedTalk offers great insights on duality, difference AND acceptance… living in the grey vs. living in the black or white.

We all have a story, are you gutsy enough to step out of your story to learn the stories, struggles and celebrations of others?

To build a culture of innovation, collective wisdom, creativity and humanity… to create places where the BEST People can do their BEST Work to make the World Better… we must understand the stories of others.

What is your story and do you have the freedom to share it?

Cheers,
